Learn more about our giving back efforts:

Career Gear is a non-profit organization that builds strong families and communities by empowering disadvantaged men to overcome barriers and achieve self-sufficiency. They promote the economic independence of disadvantaged men by providing financial literacy training, a network of support, professional attire, career development tools, job-readiness and essential life-skills training that help men enter the workforce, stay employed and become role models and mentors to their family and community.

“The Professional Development Series workshops provide valuable information in a male-friendly atmosphere, which fosters openness in the discussions. I feel comfortable expressing my concerns, point of view and life experiences in the groups. The clothing has been a blessing. Presentation is key for the industry I am in and having a decent suit for first impressions bolsters my chances for success.”

With the help provided by College Possible, college becomes a reality for bright, eager disadvantaged students. The majority of College Possible candidates are the first in their household to attend college. Coaches guide high school students through all of the key aspects of preparing for college during after-school sessions for two hours twice a week. Over the course of their junior and senior years, students complete 320 hours of curriculum in a supportive group of college-bound peers.

During their time with College Possible, students prepare extensively for the ACT/SAT exam, complete college applications as well as apply for financial aid and scholarships. Students receive further guidance as they transition to college. Coaches help students find and connect with existing resources available on their campus to help them prepare for their challenges ahead.

See how your support transforms students and communities across the country, helping to build better futures for all!

“I did not believe I was worthy of going to college before this program.”

North Campus’ mission is to coordinate an expansive network of partnerships working together for a common goal: providing the children of the North Campus with a world-class education and an enriching childhood experience so that they will ultimately lift themselves and their families out of poverty.

North Campus plans to give life to their mission statement by building a pipeline of success from birth through college graduation for all the children living in the campus boundaries. Building a “college campus” feel for students is the ultimate goal. They provide completely free After-School Programming, Summer Academy, and some health services to families.
